RE: #1 Discussion questions for “What Happens when Basic Writers come to College?” by Patricia Bizzell

1) What sort of benefits could there be to drafting your papers with your own world view leading your thought processes?

If you draft your paper with your own world view the writing in the paper will express more of your ideals and and personality.

2) To what extent is she right, and to what extent can you argue that students can keep their original world views intact during and after education, sort of “play both fields”?

She is correct to some extent. She is saying that once you weigh the academic world view against your world view that you will " give allegiance" to the academic world view as a result. I think that even if you compare the two world views that you should be able to still keep your world view while still understanding the academic world view.
